The Zoning Board of Adjustment consists of seven regular members and a maximum of two alternate members who are appointed by the Mayor. This is a volunteer Board comprised of residents. The Zoning Board of Adjustment is empowered to grant relief from the strict application of the Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Ordinance regulates how land can be developed and establishes standards for buildings and structures. The Zoning Ordinance outlines permitted uses within a certain zone.

The Planning Board consists of nine regular members and a maximum of two alternate members. They include the Mayor, a Councilperson and residents who are appointed by the Mayor. A quorum of five members is required to conduct a meeting. Meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Check the Borough calendar for the most updated schedule.
The Planning Board hears applications for permitted uses including site plans and subdivisions. The Planning Board reviews rezoning requests and proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and reports their findings and recommendations to the Borough Council who makes the final decision.
The Planning Board is also responsible for the adoption of the Master Plan. The Master Plan is the blueprint for our community and provides general guidelines for future growth and development within the municipality. The Master Plan is periodically reviewed and updated based on current trends and conditions.
