A Borough well returned to service this morning after necessary valve updates. As water makes its way through mains which have been stagnant, manganese may be stirred up throughout the water system causing discoloration. Water is safe to drink, but may stain laundry and dishes. Utility staff are working throughout town to diffuse manganese build ups by flushing hydrants. Residents are advised to avoid using hot water until they see water run clear. Run cold water for 20 minutes to flush any discoloration before using washing machine or dishwasher.
